EARLY SPRING WILDLIFE PHOTO TOUR

Early spring is perhaps the most overlooked time of year in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Grizzly bears are out along the Northern Range by late March and mid-April in the Tetons. Wolf pups are out of the den in early May about the time bison calves arrive in Yellowstone.

Some of Yellowstone opens in late April allowing travel within part of the park. Most of Yellowstone opens around May 8: Be one of the first east of Lake Yellowstone looking for Raspberry and Snow. See what the Wapiti Lake and Junction Butte packs are up to.

Grass is turning green by early May and there is a window before Memorial Day when the wildlife viewing is spectacular, but the summer crowds have not yet arrived.

Join us in early spring to photograph wildlife babies. Enjoy winter, spring and summer in perhaps the same day. We will help you improve as a photographer using our iconic Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem as a classroom.
